Saying “No” Well

Definition: Declining requests and “opportunities” in a clear and respectful way when one is near or at full capacity.

High performers often say “yes” to prove value. Over time, overcommitment erodes focus and visibility. Saying no feels risky — as if it might reduce opportunity or approval.

Saying “No” well means prioritizing strategically. It requires clarity about where you create the most value — and the confidence to decline what distracts from it.
